This is the first sunscreen I've ever used that doesn't leave me feeling like I'm wearing sunscreen. It goes on much more like a lotion, and doesn't leave your skin greasy. As a bonus, it smells great! I'm a day camp counselor this summer, and I'm spending a lot of time in the sun. This is my new go-to sunscreen, and it protects skin flawlessly. I'm extremely fair-skinned, but I haven't gotten burned at all since I started using Hawaiian Tropic! My skin also feels softer and smoother since I started using it. I love this stuff! I grew up using Coppertone to protect me from the sun in Africa. I however wish I'd had this Hawaiian Tropic lotion as I much prefer it. It soaks in fast and doesn't leave my skin greasy. When using this lotion I only stay out in the sun for about 15 minutes to half an hour at most. I find it is effective for that amount of time since I have very fair and sensitive skin. I like the moisturizing qualities and the intoxicating scent is wonderful. I'll be using this when I garden all summer. (Health and Beauty) I am a really avid sunscreen user. I have been looking forever for the 'holy grail' of sunscreens- one that absorbs quickly, doesn't leave my skin greasy and gross, and lasts on my skin for the day...well, I think I found it. This is less of a "sun lotion" than it is a "sun cream". It is very thin and watery, which I think helps it absorb extremely well. It leaves my face smooth and soft- and if I didn't tell anyone, they would never know I was wearing it. The smell is a tad strong when you first apply it, but it's not bad, and quickly subsides. I usually wait about 5-10 minutes after applying this stuff to put makeup on. Some people will say that this stuff clogs pores- I have never had any problems with that. I just gently wash it off at night with a good cleanser, and I have no issues. (I believe shiseido actually makes a cleanser for the sunscreen, though, if you want to be extra-sure) Overall, if you like sunscreens, check this one out. Seriously... I've had rosacea all my life. I guess I'm lucky, I don't get the bumps and lumps and scaliness, I just look like I have a permanent sunburn. I have to wear very heavy, greasy makeup to cover my red skin. I read about this stuff, and I tried it for the first time today. I think it did a decent job of neutralizing the redness. This cream is green- green and red are complementary colors- which means they cancel each other out. So putting the green over the red skin helps even out the skin tone. The trick is to use it *sparingly*! I've read reviews of people saying it turned their face green- well duh- it will if you slather it on. Rub it in well, one area at a time and don't try to do your whole face at once. It is very creamy and easy to blend. I did not find it heavy or greasy. I bought this product 6 months ago along with the night creame. After 3 months of using both daily, it did not treat the redness at all. I discontinued using the night creame, but continue to use the lotion as it does a good job making my skin look significantly less red by masking it. It has helped me to feel less self-concious in public and I try not to leave the house without it on. This 1.7 oz bottle has lasted me 6 months and still has a few months of use left in it. Overall, a good product, but not a good alternative to a dermatologist.
