4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but ingredient list changes frequently, July 22, 2011

This review is from: All Terrain AquaSport SPF30 Natural Sunscreen Lotion (3- Ounce) (Misc.)
This is the best non-toxic sunscreen I've been able to find so far. It's effective and doesn't give you that "zombie paste" look like other zinc oxide-based sunscreens.

The problem? They change their formula frequently. Older versions have a combination of zinc oxide and titanium oxide which I feel was much more sweat resistant than the current formulation (and was worthy of a 5 star rating). Newer formulation doesn't rub in as well into the skin so it's easier to have white patches on you somewhere. If you sweat a lot like I do, it will run off your face fairly soon thereafter.

This is the best one I've found so far, but I'm still keeping my eye open for one that is more sweat resistant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for Oily Skin but Too Clumpy, June 19, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this sunscreen based on its ranking in Consumer Reports.

Good:
Helps reduce the shine of my oily skin all day. I haven't used a mattifying product that works as well as this sunscreen in getting rid of shine. Also, as a person with dark skin I was surprised I didn't look like a kabuki warrior after applying (I needed more effort to blend it in).

Bad:
The sunscreen is very difficult to get out of the tube because of clumps and it takes more work to blend into the skin. I would give this 5 stars but the formula has to be improved to get rid of the lumps.

Update (8/21/12):
Received a new tube from the All Terrain manufacturer and purchased another tube through Amazon. Both tubes have none of the problems I had with the initial lumpy batch (new batch is smooth and no lumps). I'll be revising my rating up due to the improvement of the product.

Dear D.R.A.,
All Terrain stands behind the quality of our products 100%. We apologize for your negative experience. Our sunscreen should have a smooth, creamy texture without clumps, it sounds like you received a defective tube. Please feel free to contact us at info at allterrainco dot com. Sincerely,

2.0 out of 5 stars Terrible sunscreen, June 13, 2012
amytee (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews

I was really excited when this sunscreen arrived, I had been searching for one with the supposedly safer zinc oxide. First off the bottle is poorly designed, it becomes very hard to squeeze the sunscreen out. I had to unscrew the cap and widen the hole with a tool! Then applying it is not fun at all, it doesn't spread easily and has a weird texture. Lastly, this is a terrible sunscreen for workouts. It basically blocks your pores so your skin can't breathe properly. As soon as you start to exercise, every place you've applied the sunscreen will start dripping with sweat and then your skin will look milky white. This happens even before you begin to exercise rigorously. I definitely do NOT recommend this sunscreen.
